The Ark of Eden is a small, non-disordered multiple system.  This wiki will be used to describe system members, associated concepts, histories, and parts of our internal structure.  We hope that doing so will help us increase our collective self-knowledge, uncover additional meanings and connections, and eventually lead to greater internal harmony.

The experience of multiplicity is unique for every group, so we would caution unfamiliar readers against generalizing the details of our experience to other systems.  Our wiki is not intended (at least at the present) to act as a FAQ or foundation document about fundamental multiplicity concepts.  The following links cover the basics well:

Disclaimers & Caveats

Our internal reality, while organized in a way that most of us find sensible, is quite a bit more mutable and fantastical than the consensual reality outside of our borders.  Certain rules do not apply and certain concepts are used in unconventional ways.  Some key points to remember:

• We do not consider our multiplicity to be a disorder, but we also don't believe that it inherently grants us any special powers that are outside the potential of other people.
• Most of our members are not human, even though our body is.
• We will sometimes state that certain people or structures are "fictional," "created," etc.   While it is true that these things developed as a result of our creative efforts, our output remains intimately connected to its points of origin.  At the very least, we use the serious examination of our fiction as a way of tracking our unknown thoughts and motivations, which often appear first in story form.  Characters and worlds tend to possess some degree of independent life and deeper meaning as extensions, reflections, or variations of existing people.  Because one's meaning system and self-perception are as much a part of oneself as a body, the lines between individuals and between "real" and "imaginary" are often profoundly blurred within the borders of our group.  Because the subjective nature of our inner reality allows us freedom from the strict laws of consensual space, and because the mutable nature of ourselves and our world helps us to communicate and learn from each other more freely, we have little interest in forcing separation between us and our creations.  Do not assume that "fictional" means "fake" or that a person born from a story is an unfeeling, mindless toy.
• Members of the fronting group, who are present in our body during everyday life, are very much aware of how consensual reality works and are quite capable of occupying themselves with mundane concerns.  Everyday life is not going to be an important focus of this wiki partly because we do not want to give away too much personal information and partly because our life is a lot like that of any other (rather eccentric) person.  Life updates can be found at ark_of_eden @ DW and arkofeden @ LJ.
• Due to the nature of our various residents, be warned that some pages of this wiki may contain adult language, sexual references, descriptions of violence, unconventional belief systems, and possibly other squick-inducing things as well.  Such content will be included for the sake of accuracy and honesty, not for the purpose of making readers uncomfortable.

Most of the material on this wiki will be written by Riss, the current main frontrunner, who will be doing his damnedest to describe things clearly and to be unbiased.  For the sake of clarity, Riss will be referring to itself in the third person throughout this wiki unless there is some compelling reason to do otherwise.  Sections written by other members will be clearly marked as such.
